Second shoot of the day, this time on location – found some great backdrops in and around some warehouses in Dundee a while back and have been dying to try them out, i love ‘on location’ shoots – I tend to feel more free and more adventurous in my shooting style, lots of things to do and touch and play with…most of it requiring a tetanus shot afterwards …. now that the summer is approaching I need to get more location shoots on the go…that said – the day was rudely interrupted by the ‘drunkest’? couple known to man who took a shine to our models and our shoot – after witnessing them falling and rolling around the street for 5 mins with some concern we moved on… thats dundee at 5 in the evening for you!  Still…. an amazing day and thanks to everyone involved.

Through a mutual friend Fee got in touch to organise a shoot… Fee, Rachel and Bianca turned up and we had a blast all day with all 3 jumping in and out the limelight. Fee brought along a heap of great accessories and was a real natural for someone who was so new to modelling, overall a great day with some great results, the girls seem very happy with their snaps as am I. The pineapple was awesome.!

Thanks to Tara for bringing us all together and gillybean for sorting most things on the day.

Trying out new lighting techniques and new sigma 30mm lens with my beautiful wife aka ‘miss burfly’, really liking the DOF from my new toy.

Most recent shoot with josie raven – MM #800967. MUAH and wardrobe: josie. clothes are by Lady K Loves and the clutches are by Vintage Yum.

After having planned the shoot for a week my amazing location (an old rundown/retro market in the centre of town) was cancelled last minute… grrrr — permission denied  we couldn’t go outside due to gale force winds so we had to go to plan B with a simple grey backdrop and a £2 deck chair…Josie had the cold but you would never think it… she’s a trooper.

UPDATE: 24/03/09 - have been informed the photos above with the clutch bag may be in the june edition of VOGUE magazine! in an article about Vintage Yum – so excited! Will keep you updated.

One of my favourite sets so far and first attempt at this kinda vintage/pin up style. Wardrobe and MUAH again by Josie and props sourced by myself which proved a hit on the day, lots of fun had with bubbles – that’s for sure… would love to know what you all think? I can’t believe Josie lives about only 2 mins down the road from us… i’m sure we will shoot again very soon!

Well Josie Raven Model Mayhem #800967 turned up with so much clothes and accessories it was unreal – what a superb model, she also did an amazing job with her hair and makeup which suited the look we were going for. The shots above were primarily for Boobie Trap corsets and the accessories came from Torture Couture. Most of the props were from ebay, my attic or my grans house! The whole day was a hoot, josie was bursting with ideas and can’t wait to work with her again!

UPDATE: The photo with the coke bottle has received a DAILY DEVIATION on deviantart receiving thousands of hits so far – very happy

After travelling all the way to my first choice location only to find it had been levelled to the ground we decided to have a drive around and luckily found an old petrol station/carwash with weird graffiti and a fence that needs a good paint, the guys across the road at the pub were copping an eyeful of cat but she didn’t mind — we also moved on to the coolest little blue shed sat on the 18th hole of a nearby golf course while on the way home, loved the colouring – have to remember that place.

Advice to photographers is to book this girl now (if you haven’t already) it was a superb second shoot of the day and cat seems to like her new brolly so everyone’s happy

My second shoot of 2009 and first one (of many, i hope) with the amazing catriona rennie www.catrionarennie.co.uk 

She just oozes confidence and attitude and is obviously stunning to boot, she loved all our ideas and was so easy to work with, pose after pose after pose… lets hope all future shoots are this good! 

This was shot in my kitchen – fabrics from ikea, umbrella and skates from pound shop, chair from ebay, kitchen from homebase wardrobe and makeup – catriona.

First shoot with model natasha masson – model mayhem #827057. This was my first contact with a model other than my beautiful wife Gillybean who has been my muse over the last few years, was a bit daunting to begin with but she was very relaxed which helped and we were both very happy with the outcome. The set was shot at my local park and also in my home studio with a grey seamless. Gillybean assisted on the day also. go check out the full gallery.
